What ingredients are used to make the soap?

Poppy & Pearl Provisions makes small-batch soap with thoughtfully chosen, earth-derived ingredients. Plant oils and butters, botanicals, clays, and salts come together to create bars that feel as good as they look—rich in texture, naturally aromatic, and made for everyday ritual.

We use ingredients like nourishing nut oils and butters, dried botanicals and hand-ground food ingredients, mineral-rich clays, and natural salts to bring depth, character, and a sensory quality to each bar. Every ingredient is selected with intention, balancing beauty, function, and the simple pleasure of a well-made soap.

When it comes to scent, we keep things close to nature. We do not use synthetic fragrance oils or overpowering scents. Instead, our soaps are scented only with pure essential oils, chosen for their distinctive botanical character and natural aroma. The result is a softer, more nuanced fragrance: present, but never overwhelming.

And yes, real soap requires lye. We use food-grade sodium hydroxide, which is transformed during the traditional soapmaking process through a chemical reaction called saponification. By the time the process is complete, the lye has done its work and is no longer present as lye—it has become soap.

The result is handcrafted soap made from ingredients that begin close to the earth and are transformed, by hand, into something useful, beautiful, and meant to be enjoyed every day.

Vegan
Poppy & Pearl Provisions products are made with earth-derived ingredients and are, at this time, entirely vegan-friendly. We do not use animal-derived ingredients in our formulations.

Organic
Organic is one consideration among many when we choose an ingredient. While not every ingredient we use is certified organic, some of our ingredients are organic.

We also look beyond organic certification when sourcing, considering factors such as local and farm-raised ingredients, sustainable growing practices, responsible production, and social responsibility throughout the supply chain.

For us, thoughtful sourcing means considering the whole picture—not simply checking a single box. We believe good ingredients should be chosen with care, from where they come from to how they make their way into our soap.

A little care goes a long way. Between uses, allow your handcrafted soap bar to dry fully on a well-draining soap dish. Keep it out of direct streams of water such as from showerheads, faucets, and frequent splashes, and never leave your bar sitting in standing water. Too much moisture can soften the bar & shorten its life.

Use a natural-fiber washcloth or loofah to work the bar into a creamy, abundant foam. Lather with your wash tool rather than directly with your hands, then return your soap to a dry place between uses. This simple ritual helps your bar dry more thoroughly & can extend the life of your soap.

Orders are prepared and shipped Monday through Friday, excluding holidays. Because each order is individually prepared, please allow 1–3 business days for processing before your order ships.

Shipping rates are calculated and displayed at checkout. Once shipped, orders typically arrive within 3–5 business days for standard shipping & 2 days for two-day shipping, depending on destination. Transit times do not include weekends or holidays, and additional delays may occur during peak holiday periods.

Because our products include personal-care, body-care, hygiene, and other consumable goods, we do not accept discretionary returns or exchanges once an order has shipped. This policy helps us protect the safety, quality, and integrity of our products for every customer.
